Recent research by Prof. Gesine Reinert and a group of international researchers have illustrated, with network analysis, how a conflict between social groups of chimpanzees has evolved to become permanent. This work is significant because the severity of such social behaviour has previously been unseen in chimpanzees. NeST recently held its third annual meeting at the Royal Literary and Scientific Institution in Queen's Square in Bath. The meeting attracted 35 NeST participants from the Universities of Bath, Edinburgh, Oxford, York, the London School of Economics and Political Science, Imperial College London, University College Dublin and a remote talk from Ghent University
